Immediately after an accident

Wherever possible please take photographs of the accident location, and damage to the vehicle in situ before it is moved.

The initial report MUST be made within 24 hours of the finish of the event.

Initial Information required:

  • Time and date of incident / Photos of the scene and of the car at the scene if possible /Place that the damaged vehicle will be stored / summary description of the incident
  • We will send you a detailed Claim Notification form by e-mail, so will need your reply e-mail address or the Notification form will automatically got to the Policyholders email address.

Protection Recovery and Inspection

Providing the damage is covered under the policy we will agree arrangements for the insured vehicle be removed from the accident location to its usual home location, to an approved repairer, the team home location or a place of safety.

Where the insured vehicle is being driven on behalf of a team, the team will normally be involved in the repair of the insured vehicle. In these circumstances we will normally, at our discretion treat the team, as our approved repairer

You or the team members must not remove any parts, components, software or firmware from the insured vehicle until such time at it has been inspected by our appointed engineer/assessor. Where there are circumstances where you feel that parts, components, software or firmware need to be removed prior to inspection by our appointed engineer/assessor, you should contact us to explain the reasons why and seek our permission to do so. We may agree to the proposed removal, but this will always be subject to adequate photographs being taken of the damaged vehicle prior to the removal of any damaged parts or components. We may also apply additional conditions to any activity in stripping down the damaged vehicle.

Your submission of Supporting Documentation

You must submit documentation in support of your claim as quickly as possible, but in any event within 7 days of the finish of the event.

Delays in reporting the claim or submitting supporting documentation will delay settlement, and may invalidate your right to claim.
